I want to share with you a truth that I have learned.
We do indeed each have a divine mission, but we don’t need to become anxious over what that mission is. We just need to keep moving forward. Sometimes we may become paralyzed by the choices before us... What classes should I take? Where should I go to college? Should I go on a mission? Choices will need to be made. Many opportunities will present themselves. There is not only one perfect, narrow, rigid way to live our lives. Our Heavenly Father does not dictate every choice we make. Sometimes, however, we will receive promptings, invitations to trust him and make choices we may not have made otherwise. Even when you receive these clear impressions, know that it is still your choice. Your Heavenly Father knows you personally and He loves you! He knows your deepest desires and He knows He wants you to come back to Him. When you receive those promptings, I urge you to have faith, but please don’t think of God as a “divine dictator” but more of a co-creator with you as you joyfully discover the life you want to live. This life provides us with a safe space to learn from our own experience, so act, choose, live and when you are wondering what way you should go just remember the scripture John 14:5-6. Jesus Christ is “the way” and I know if you keep moving forward, and keep turning back to Christ if the choices you make do somehow lead you sideways or even spin you right around, you will find and fulfill your divine mission. |
AuthorThis blog is inspired by The Life of Our Lord, by Charles Dickens. Dickens hoped to teach his children about religion and faith. He wrote the book strictly for his children with zero desire to have it published, but it was later shared with others that it might stand as a source of light in a darkening world. It starts, "My Dear Children, I am very anxious that you should know something about the History of Jesus Christ. For everybody ought to know about Him..." Archives
